Visit and seminar of Prof. Salah Al-Majeed

We are pleased to welcome Professor Salah Al-Majeed from the University of Lincoln to the lab. He presented his work to us in a seminar entitled: Health and Social Care Innovation – Assistive Technologies for the Citizens of Britain

Salah Al-Majeed is a Professor of Systems Engineering and Deputy Head of the School of Computer Science at the University of Lincoln. He is leading IEEE UK and Irland section for STEM and Education. His current research interests fall in the areas of Health Informatics and Healthcare Engineering, shaping new thinking, accelerating discovery, and nurturing bright ideas to improve lives. Salah is driving breakthroughs and innovation in a range of areas, including but not limited to:

  • Wearable devices, Telemedicine and Mobile Telemedicine applications
  • Wireless Sensors Networks: Bio– application, Energy Application
  • E-Health and Healthcare; Brain-Signals and MRI
  • Security of Chip and Wireless Security
  • Applied AI: Artificial Neural Network, Machine-Learning and Deep-Learning

He has published more than 100 papers in scientific journals and refereed conference proceedings in these areas. Prof Al-Majeed has delivered several invited and keynotes talks at international events, universities, and research centres. Salah is an accomplished academic who has held several key positions at renowned universities with numerous years of experience in; teaching, research, management, and leadership nationally and internationally. He has PhD in Electronic Systems Engineering from the University of Essex with an extensive portfolio of Industrial and R&D works, leading the innovation of implementing technologies. His research projects were supported and funded by the UK, EU, and international organisations. Salah is EiC of Computer Science and Engineering International Journal, Editorial Member at International Journal of Computer Science, Engineering and Applications, and Computer Science and Control Engineering. Also, he is a lead and/or reviewer for various IET, ACM, and IEEE conferences and Transaction Journals.
